Frequently Asked Questions

All classes are in English. However, for a private class, we can propose a class in French, it may be possible to have a private class in Spanish depending on chef availability.

Please head over to our Class Calendar where you will have up-to-date availability and can reserve your dates directly online. You can also browse our class pages and click ‘book now’ on the class page that you prefer. You can book multiple reservations in one session and head to your basket to check out the classes you have booked.

Please note that private class requests have a price of 0โ‚ฌ at checkout as you will only receive a payment link from us once we have reviewed your request.

We welcome you to our culinary adventures from Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, all year round, excluding public holidays. While our classes take a break on Sundays and Mondays, our passion for sharing the art of French cooking doesn’t.

For those exceptional moments, we can arrange private bookings on Sundays, accompanied by a 20% surcharge. We cannot apply any discount codes (not applicable to travel agents) due to the special arrangements required for our staff. On Mondays, while we don’t hold regular classes, our administrative office is open, and we’re more flexible in accommodating private requests without an additional surcharge.

If there is a class that you are particularly interested in one of the group classes that we aren’t offering on a day that you are in Paris, please get in touch with us by email: info@cooknwithclass.com and we may consider opening a new class date depending on our availability and dependent on the number of people who wish to book.

Please note that we cannot cater to last-minute requests (under two weeks before you would need a class to open) and our croissant and bread classes cannot be offered on Tuesdays or Wednesdays due to dough preparation time.

We are closed on Mondays and Sundays so opening a last-minute calss on these days is also not possible for us.

Yes, we do accept credit card payments with Visa, MasterCard, Amex.

Booking Conditions for Regularly Scheduled Classes:

Full payment is required to book a class. As we require a minimum number of participants to confirm a class, your booking request will only require payment should the minimum be satisfied either prior to or including your booking.

We accept various forms of payment but the simplest way is by credit card through our online payment form. As soon as we receive the payment confirmation, we will send you all the details and information regarding the meeting point and location of the class.

Certain classes, such as our (Cheese & Wine,ย &ย Private Lessons), require us to review and accept the booking before payment is due. Once accepted, in most cases, your payment must be made withinย 48 hoursย otherwise the system will automatically cancel it and you will have to start the booking process again.

Payment Terms:
Full payment by credit card is required to make a reservation.

We accept various forms of payment but the simplest way is by credit card through our online payment form. As soon as we receive the payment confirmation, we will send you all the details and information regarding the meeting point and location of the class.

Note: We strongly suggest that all travelers purchase trip cancellation insurance to cover the trip in the event of natural disasters, health issues, and/or other unforeseen events or travel bans. For additional option on travel insurance, please see our cancelation policy

Coming to class:

We ask that you limit the number of items you bring into the school so that you will be able to keep them with you in class.

Children in class:

Children between 10 and 17 are welcome in a number of our pastry classes when accompanied by a participating adult (with the exception of the Marie Antoinette Class and Gateaux Boutique Class which are adults only). A limited number of children from age 13 can join French Market Classes. Our ‘en famille’ classes allow for specified age ranges of children welcomed into these classes. You may be asked for identity if there is a doubt about the age of your child so please have this ready. Children who do not fall under the correct age criteria specified on the dedicated class page, cannot be allowed to participate or enter the class and the booking will be canceled with no rebooking or refund available. So please check the age range available on each class page carefully. If no age is specified then it is an adults-only class.

Booking Conditions for Private Classes & Team Building/Large Group Classes

Thank you for choosing our private class services. We understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances can arise, leading to the need for canceling or rescheduling a private class booking. To ensure a fair and consistent approach, we have developed the following cancellation policy:
Cancellation Timeframe:
All private class bookings must be canceled within a specific timeframe to be eligible for a refund or rescheduling. The cancellation timeframe is as follows:
A minimum of 30 days prior to the scheduled start time of the class.

Refunds and Rescheduling:

a. Cancellations made within the specified timeframe:
If a private class booking is canceled at least 30 days before the scheduled start time, you will be eligible for a partial refund of the booking fee less a 30% penalty, or you may choose to reschedule the class without any additional charges.
Rescheduling is subject to availability and must be mutually agreed upon by both parties.
b. Cancellations made outside the specified timeframe:
Private class bookings canceled less than 30 days before the scheduled start time will not be eligible for a refund.
In such cases, rescheduling the class may be possible, subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
Please note that any private class booking canceled less than 7 days before the scheduled start time is no longer eligible for either a refund or postponement.
c. Changes to the number of participants:
Any changes to the number of participants included in the initial quote, if we are able to accommodate the request, will be subject to a price adjustment. These changes are acceptable up to 15 days before the scheduled start time and are subject to availability (of our space and our staff). After this time frame, no changes are possible that would increase the number of participants, and any adjustment decreasing the number of participants will not incur a partial refund of any kind.
Communication:
To initiate a cancellation or rescheduling request, please contact our office via email at info@cooknwithclass.com. This ensures that your request is received promptly and can be addressed effectively.
Exceptions:
a. Force Majeure:
In the event of unexpected circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, severe weather conditions, or any other force majeure events, we may consider refunding or rescheduling the private class even if it falls outside the specified cancellation timeframe. Such decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.

b. Instructor Unavailability:
If the assigned instructor becomes unavailable due to illness or any other unforeseen circumstances, we will offer the option to reschedule the class at no additional cost or provide a full refund.
c. Client Violation:
If a client violates the terms and conditions, exhibits disrespectful behavior, or engages in any other inappropriate conduct, we reserve the right to refuse a refund and cancel future bookings.
We value your understanding and cooperation in adhering to our cancellation policy. By booking a private class with us, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined above. OUR STANDARD CANCELATION POLICY

Our booking calendar offers real-time availability, and online payments allow you to secure your booking on any day of the week, subject to available spaces in your desired class and confirmation of your plans.
To ensure an immersive experience for all participants, we limit our class sizes. Consequently, our cancellation policy is designed to accommodate everyone’s interests while considering the impact of blocked seats. Please review the following guidelines:
Cancellation 45 days or more prior to the class:
A refund of the fee is available, with a deduction of 50 euros per person booked as a cancellation fee.
We are delighted to assist you in rescheduling your class based on availability.
Please note that rescheduled dates may be subject to changes in pricing and depend on the availability of our schedule.
Cancellation 45 days or less prior to the class:
The fee is non-refundable.
However, you have the flexibility to reschedule your class or transfer your booking to another person within 6 months from the original class date.
Rescheduled dates may be subject to changes in pricing and depend on the availability of our schedule.
If no rescheduling or transfer occurs during this 6-month period, the credit will be canceled.
Cancellation Less than 72 hours before the class or after the date of the class:
The fee is non-refundable, and rescheduling is not permitted.
Prepaid packages:
Purchased prepaid packages are non-refundable.
You may transfer any unused portion of your package to another party within the validity period.
Please note that transferred packages are subject to availability, and rescheduled dates may be subject to changes in pricing.

Les rรฉservations de cours privรฉs annulรฉes moins de 30 jours avant l’heure de dรฉbut prรฉvue ne pourront pas faire l’objet d’un remboursement.
Dans ce cas, il est possible de reprogrammer le cours, sous rรฉserve de disponibilitรฉ et moyennant des frais supplรฉmentaires.
Veuillez noter que toute rรฉservation de cours privรฉ annulรฉe moins de 7 jours avant l’heure de dรฉbut prรฉvue ne peut plus faire l’objet d’un remboursement ou d’un report.

c. Modification du nombre de participants :
Toute modification du nombre de participants inclus dans le devis initial, si nous sommes en mesure d’accรฉder ร  la demande, fera l’objet d’un ajustement de prix. Ces modifications sont acceptables jusqu’ร  15 jours avant l’heure de dรฉbut prรฉvue et sont soumises ร  la disponibilitรฉ (de nos locaux et de notre personnel). Passรฉ ce dรฉlai, aucune modification n’est possible pour augmenter le nombre de participants, et tout ajustement diminuant le nombre de participants ne donnera lieu ร  aucun remboursement partiel de quelque nature que ce soit.

Communication :

Si l’instructeur dรฉsignรฉ n’est pas disponible en raison d’une maladie ou de toute autre circonstance imprรฉvue, nous offrons la possibilitรฉ de reprogrammer le cours sans frais supplรฉmentaires ou de le rembourser intรฉgralement.

c. Violation de la part du client :
Si un client enfreint les conditions gรฉnรฉrales, fait preuve d’un comportement irrespectueux ou adopte toute autre conduite inappropriรฉe, nous nous rรฉservons le droit de refuser le remboursement et d’annuler les rรฉservations futures.

En rรฉservant un cours privรฉ avec nous, vous reconnaissez et acceptez les conditions รฉnoncรฉes ci-dessus. In the event of cancelation on our part and in the absence of an agreed-upon alternative date, a refund will be issued in full.

Our general classes are limited to 10 people. This is to ensure that everyone has plenty of attention from the chef. We can, however, accommodate private groups of up to 23 people. If your group size is larger than 10 people we will propose using more than one atelier if spaces are available. Please inquire at info@cooknwithclass.com.

As soon as you have your dates. Don’t forget that classes are only for up to 6-10 people depending on the class, so availability might be limited…

We do not personally have accommodations. However our partners will be able to assist you with vacation rentals in Paris. Visit our Links page for more details.

All that you will need to participate in the day’s lesson will be provided for you.

The price includes the cost of ingredients. The only extra cost would be if you decided to invite someone who has not partaken in the French Market class to join us for the meal. This price is listed on the Market Class pages. We limit each class meal to two guests only.

If you have any food allergies or other food restrictions, please be sure to mention it when you reserve. We have provided a further information/comment box (on the booking page), for you to ask any specific questions or let us know about your particular needs. The more we know, the more we can make sure you have an enjoyable experience with us ๐Ÿ˜Š

In the Morning & Evening Market Classes, we prepare a 4-course meal, including an appetizer, main course and dessert paired with wine and a Cheese course served before the dessert. The menu is chosen on the day of the class and can not be provided in advance. Visit our French Market Class page for more details. A private class‘ menu can be determined by your group from start to finish if you would like (dependent on seasonal availabilities) or our chef can recommend a menu.

Your friends and family are welcome to join us for the meal at the end of the class for a small additional cost of 60ย euros per person. Please be sure to let us know in advance, how many guests you will be inviting as we limit each class to no more than 2 guests per class as this will affect the number of participants to whom we will leave the class available. A class participant cannot have more than 1 guest. You can add a guest to your meal when making your booking, this will be added to your total sum at checkout. We will be in contact with you if we are unable to accommodate the number of guests in your class.

NOTE: We are more than happy to have your friend or family join us for the meal as long as there is availability. As we will be removing a participant seat from the class in order to accommodate your guest, guest payments are non-refundable when canceled less than 7 days before the class.

Children from age 10 are more than welcome in most of our baking classes (outisde of our advanced baking classes, the Marie Antoinette Experience and The Gateaux Boutique Class) but must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Our class sizes are small, therefore spaces allotted for children are limited. We have En Famille baking classes, making macarons or a variety of French patisseries, which allow 1 parent + 1 child aged between 6 and 12, to work in pairs in class. 9 – 15-year-olds can enjoy the Cuisine en Famille class where you will cook a three-course meal together as a parent and child duo!

We also have a Kids’ Chocolate Class for kids between the ages of 6 and 16, where they can make various seasonal chocolate confections. A parent/guardian must remain on the premises for children under the age of 10 and while waiting you are welcome to book a place in our 2-hour Express Croissant Class.

We can allow children from age 3 to participate in a Private Class, due to the limited attention spans of younger participants, parents and guardians must supervise their children at all times.ย Our classes are tailored to accommodate children from age 6 and up. We may assign groups with younger participants to specific classes that best suit their interests and meet safety requirements.

You will always receive recipes after you have taken a class with us (sent to you by email), these are sent out to you within 10 working days of your class date. If you cannot find your recipes in your inbox please send an inquiry to info@cooknwithclass.com.

If you are looking for more recipes to try at home, you can access our recipesย here. When you sign up for our newsletter you will unlock many more recipes from our chefs both here in Uzรจs and in Paris. Registration is required on our recipe database as well as in the newsletter.

We offer 5 pre-paid packages that will allow you to take from 3-5 classes over the period of a 1 year. You can find out more about our French Culinary packages here. Thes packages are a great option for someone interested in taking several classes and offer great value.

We typically recommend Trustindex, Tripadvisor, and Google, but please feel free to spread the word about our small French cooking school wherever you prefer and as many times as you like!

If you are a family of three for example, you can all join one of our family classes, however, the extra person will need to have a duo spot booked for themselves. This is because we like to keep our class sizes limited to 10 individuals maximum and this ensures that we will not overbook the class.

We have family classes for desserts and macaron baking for adults and kids from ages 6 – 12 and a savory cooking class for adults and kids from ages 9 – 15. These classes are booked in duo spots, so each booking counts for 1 child and 1 adult. if you are a family of three, for example, you will need to book two duo spots in any of these classes.

Our private classes have a capacity of up to 8 people within the class (and within the set class price, please see this page for class prices). From 9 participants to 23 participants, this would be a large-group class and is organized and priced differently, we may need to increase the number of chefs working with you and the number of kitchen spaces.

A large group class is priced per person (class prices can be found here). Our maximum capacity for large groups or team building is 23 people.

We can’t offer recipes to our classes for those who did not join us for a class, you may want to check our online shop for any ebooks with a selection of recipes from our Chefs.
