Mona Khalife

Our wine specialist & resident sommelier, Mona Khalife tells us that she did not come from a family into food & wine. Her interest in the industry particularly in catering when she started waitressing as a Summer job. She decided to pursue a catering degree at a well-known Lycée Alexandre Dumas in Alsace. It was here, during a tasting of Munster cheese paired with Gewurztraminer wine that she had an epiphany. She was going to become a sommelier. Following her course work to complete her degree, with a new passion begun, she first worked in fine dining restaurants with  a World Best sommelier in Paris. Our half-German, half-Lebanese wine enthusiast next wanted to continue her adventures abroad. Off she went to England where she worked as a head sommelier for a Hotel du Vin which focused on wine and a fine wine shop. She continued working as a wine specialist alongside world renowned sommelier Philippe Faure-Brac once she returned to France and has now decided to share her take on food & wine pairing by offering classes and tours to other wine enthusiasts.

“It is one of the best parts for me, sharing my knowledge over a nice dinner and pairing food and wine,” says Mona.
