
Mathieu was born in Montreuil, a suburb of Paris, and lived for 15 years in Angers (Maine and Loire), he has been back in Paris since 1996. Chef Mathieu is a man of many talents whose love of food, culture, & theatre makes him a perfect instructor and entertainer. Following his culinary studies, he spent 5 years working in the famous hotel and catering school of Saumur in the Loire Valley. He was lucky to have had the opportunity to train in the Alps and on the Mediterranean seaside further deepening his knowledge of regional French cuisine.
He arrived in Paris in 1996 and worked in various restaurants and traditional brasseries in Paris. He became a head chef in 2001.
Always ready to learn himself and with his interests in the history of French cuisine and pastries he is a well of knowledge having researched French cuisine history starting from the middle ages.
He also has an interest in street food from around the world and world cuisine in general, so he’d love to hear the stories of your culinary adventures either during your travels or from your home country!
Outside of his busy culinary pursuits, he also finds time to practice theatre and he loves music and cinema. His next theatrical role will be in Molière’s imaginary invalid.
