For Love of Wine and Cheese!

Did we tell you that this is our 10th year at Cook’n With Class Paris? It has been 10 years of fun, food and wine. As the years pass we sometimes forget how we got here in the first place but we never forget the people who were a big part of pushing us forward. To celebrate this anniversary year, I’ve been asking our chefs and sommeliers past and present to share with us their Cook’n With Class story.ย

Preston Mohr, has been teaching our Cheese & Wine, Food & Wine Pairing and leading our Gourmet food tour since 2007. I’ll let him tell you the rest.ย

I started working with Cookโ€™n With Class as the host for the weekly Cheese & Wine classes. These private classes were offered to Yetundeโ€™s clients when she was the owner of Feels Like Home In Paris. The structure is very similar to what we still offer on Wednesday nights as our Cheese & Wine pairing class.

This allowed me to dip my toe into the world of wine education and get comfortable in front of a crowd. I knew that I wished to go further with my knowledge, so once I completed more training in wines and spirits. Cookโ€™n With Class Paris encouraged me to continue my studies and to become their wine specialist.

One of the best parts of Paris is that we have a world-class public transportation system so I do not need to breathalyze our guests after taking my class. I know they will all get home safely on the metro or in a taxi.

One great memory I have is of a candle-lit staff Thanksgiving dinner shortly after we moved to location on rue Baudelique. Itโ€™s always such a treat to dine at the table of 5 or 6 chefs, especially when they cross haute cuisine and Thanksgiving specialties.
