Cook’n With Class Paris – French cooking school in Paris is hosting an American soul food cooking class in Paris!

Join Cook’n with Class Paris and Maison Noire Américaine March 16th for an unforgettable Soul Food learning experience featuring Chef Jennifer Booker, the first guest chef of Maison Noire Américaine’s Soul Food Atelier series.  We love collaborating with other Chefs and following our collaboration with Akasha, where Indian chef Akash Mhetre brought Vegetarian Indian cuisine to Paris, we have partnered with Maison Noire Américaine this time to bring you a bit of authentic American soul food!

About our partner:  Founded in 2013, Maison Noire Américaine is a cultural arts nonprofit organization committed to fostering friendship and a deeper sense of community between diverse French, African American & Afro-Francophone cultures by reclaiming, embracing, and sharing commonalities of the African Diaspora while promoting cross-cultural understanding through premiere personalized services, and compelling cultural arts & education programs in San Francisco and Paris.

The day will be broken into two parts:

HANDS-ON SOUL FOOD COOKING CLASS IN PARIS

When: March 16, 2019. 10 am – 1 pm
Where: Cook’n With Class Paris – 6 rue Baudelique, Paris 75018. Metros: Simplon (line 4), Jules Joffrin (line 12)
Class size: 8 participants (spaces limited so book fast!)
Menu: Smoked Chicken Croquettes with Tarragon Mustard Sauce, Decadent Mac and Cheese and Black Eyed Pea Salad

Highlights: A three-hour hands-on Cooking class with Chef Jennifer.  At noon,  you will sit down to enjoy your hard work with some delicious (American) Southern cuisine!

SOUL FOOD TASTING AND DEMO IN PARIS

When: March 16, 2019. 5 pm – 8 pm
Where: Cook’n With Class Paris – 6 rue Baudelique, Paris 75018. Metros: Simplon (line 4), Jules Joffrin (line 12)
Max number of participants: 20
Menu: Pork en Croute with Apple Duxelle with either mixed greens with Champagne Vinaigrette or Roasted Asparagus with Citrus Vinaigrette

Highlights: Degustation and Demo Class with Chef Jennifer.  Sit back and relax as you watch Chef Jennifer prepare (American) Southern-inspired recipes created by chef Jennifer along with selected wine.  Sit back and enjoy the show as chef Jennifer shows off her skills and whips up some tasty treats for you to enjoy. A fun, relaxed evening of good old southern comfort. An informative and unique visual experience.

Whether you are interested in hands-on cooking or just watching and enjoying the food, you will be learning new skills in the kitchen through an informative and unique cooking experience!

We are excited to partner with Maison Noire Américaine in hosting Chef Jennifer Booker and these two classes bringing unique flavors to Paris in this inspiring and influential food love affair!

The class is open to cooks of all levels, chefs, and food lovers, so come cook, taste and enjoy a day with our guest, Chef Jennifer Booker!

Chef Jennifer Hill Booker wears many hats in the culinary world, as a Le Cordon Blue-Paris certified chef, cookbook author, reality TV personality, culinary educator and business owner. She is a Georgia Grown Executive Chef for the GA Department of Agriculture, the Culinary Explorer for the Georgia Department of Tourism and Travel is the founder of Southern Divas of the New South™ Dinner Series, and currently sits on the James Beard Foundation Food Waste Advisory Council. Chef Jennifer is a member of the 2018 No Kid Hungry Atlanta Society as well as a member of the 2018 AF&WF Advisory Council.

Weaving her love of traditional Southern cuisine with her belief in incorporating healthy, seasonal foods and her classic French training Chef Jennifer created a unique style of cooking that she termed Modern Southern Healthy Cuisine with a French Accent. Chef Jennifer shares this brand of cooking through her culinary company, Your Resident Gourmet, in her two cookbooks, Field Peas to Foie Gras: Southern Recipes with a French Accent and Dinner Déjà Vu: Southern Tonight, French Tomorrow, as well as on her website, ChefJenniferHillBooker.
