Where to find Craft Beer in Paris

Where to find Craft Beer in Paris.
Because you can’t always drink wine.

If you’re looking for great beer in Paris you’re in luck- there’s never been a better time to enjoy a beer in the formerly wine-dominated city. Since the craft beer boom kicked off about four years ago, the capital has seen a surge in both breweries and bars- with neighborhood institutions continuing to serve interesting beers and new arrivals bringing diversity to the craft beer scene.

Here are five fun bars to get your craft beer fix in Paris:

Hoppy Corner (34 Rue des Petits Carreaux, 75002)

Opened just in time for last year’s Paris Beer Week, this cosy craft beer bar brings together local brews with foreign favorites including Belgian style beers and American and British imports. Located in the swiftly developing Sentier neighborhood, Hoppy Corner is a great place to grab a pint after shopping along the rue de Nil, grabbing a doughnut at Boneshaker, or before heading to Lockwood for cocktails and small plates at Lockwood.

Le Triangle (13 Rue Jacques Louvel-Tessier, 75010)

The family run Le Triangle is one of the city’s first microbreweries and the only place you can enjoy brew master Jocelyn’s creative craft beers. The Canadian born brewer never makes the same beer twice, so you’re in for something new with each visit. Jocelyn’s brother Laurent works in the kitchen to prepare perfectly paired food to go with your beers while the lovely Maily, Jocelyn’s wife and Laurent’s sister- takes care of everyone in the dining room. Growlers of beer are available if you want to take a souvenir home with you!

Paname Brewing Company (41 bis Quai de la Loire, 75019)

Another Paris based tap house, Paname Brewing Company does all its brewing on site. The exposed equipment gives customers a chance to see exactly where and how their beer is made with the added bonus of enjoying a pint or two on site. Taps also include a selection of craft beers from France and abroad. Grab a spot on the canal side terrace for some of the best views in the city.

Les Trois 8 (11 Rue Victor Letalle, 75020)

At barely three years old, Les Trois 8 is already a craft beer institution in Paris and the big brother of the local beer scene. Unique in its offering of both craft beer and natural wine, the bar brings hop heads and wine lovers together over assiettes of charcuterie and cheese that go perfectly with whatever you’re drinking.

La Fine Mousse (4 bis Avenue Jean Aicard, 75011)

Just down the street from Les Trois 8 you’ll find La Fine Mousse, where beer geeks abound- all trying to work their way through the extensive list of beers on tap. The rotating taps as well as bottles make for one of the most extensive beer selections in the city. If you want to make a meal out of it, reserve a spot at the sister restaurant which specializes in beer and food pairings.

BONUS:

If you want to take your craft beer obsession to a new level, why not try making your own? Brew Unique offers classes in micro-brewing which cover all the bases of making your own small batch beer. You’ll be taken through the process of brewing, learn all about how beer ferments and bottle ages, and then come back to pick up your uniquely brewed beer when the process is done!
