Moelleux au Chocolat with Avocado & Banana Sauce

An original chocolate sauce, fun to make and tasty.

Equipment

  • Cutting board, Juicer, Blender, Aluminum cups, 5 cm large or 2 inches, Mixing Bowl, Whisk, Brush for the Mold, Saucepan (for double boiler)

Ingredients

Moelleux au Chocolat (Molten Lava Cake)

  • 180 Grams Dark Chocolate (70% cacao) (6.4 oz)
  • 180 Grams Butter (6.4 oz)
  • 6 Eggs
  • 90 Grams Flour (3.2 oz)
  • Butter for the molds
  • Flour for the molds

Avocado and Banana Sauce

  • 1 Ripe Avocado
  • 1 Ripe Banana
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • 1/2 Orange
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Water (if too thick)

Instructions

Moelleux au Chocolat (Molten Lava Cake)

  • Butter and flour your molds and keep them aside
  • Melt the chocolate and butter together using a double boiler also name bain-marie. Add the sugar and mix well, add flour, mix well, add eggs and mix well again.
  • Fill up the molds and keep them in the fridge for at least 45 minutes to one hour. Turn on the oven at 180ºC or 380ºF.
  • Bake the cakes for 10 minutes. Let them cool down for 5 minutes before unmolding on your plate.

Avocado and Banana Sauce

  • Peel the avocado and banana, and put them in the blender.
  • Squeeze the half orange and half lemon and add to the blender.
  • Add the sugar and blend for 1 minute. You should have a sauce of the texture of a milkshake, if it's too thick add a little bit of water.

Notes

The sauce can not be made in advance, only at the last minute. Or it will turn dark very quickly. It takes really one minute to make and accompany very well our moelleux au chocolat or any desserts with chocolate.
